Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentary Leader in the Sindh Assembly Khurrum Sher Zaman wrote a letter to the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi on the misconduct of Governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori.

Mr. Sher Zaman in his letter to the President of Pakistan mentions the misconduct of the Governor of Sindh regarding his abuse of his position as Governor to conduct partisan politics. This is abuse is noticeable to all the people of Sindh.

The PTI Parliamentary Leader pointed out that the Governor of a province represents the President and the Federation and so, the office of the Governor should be non-partisan and must avoid doing politics on behalf of any political party. Since becoming appointed Governor of Sindh on October 10, 2022, Mr. Tessori has engaged himself in partisan politics on behalf of the MQM, as If he is the party’s head.

Mr. Sher Zaman wrote that the Governor has been recently visiting political offices of the MQM, PSP and other factions of the MQM in an attempt at political maneuvering or some might say, political engineering to unite these political parties ahead of local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad.

The PTI Parliamentary Leader questions if this is a Governor’s job to act as a political worker of a certain party or to represent the President of Pakistan and the Federation.

If Mr. Tessori was appointed Governor for this purpose, then Mr. Sher Zaman strongly believes this is a clear violation of the Constitution and political customs and norms of parliamentary democracy, in which such posts are mainly ceremonial.

In conclusion, Mr. Sher Zaman mentioned Under Article 101 (3) of the Constitution, which says the Governor holds office during the pleasure of the President and kindly requests President Alvi to immediately investigate Governor Kamran Tessori for misconduct.
