SIALKOT – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif what appears to be unknowingly inaugurated an unauthorized outlet of Pizza Hut in Sialkot.
The matter came to light after the food chain shared a public notice about the inauguration. 
“Pizza Hut Pakistan informs our valued customers that an unauthorized outlet falsely using the Pizza Hut name and branding has recently opened in Sialkot Cantonment,” read the notice.
“This outlet is not associated with Pizza Hut Pakistan, or Yum! Brands. It does not follow Pizza Hut International recipes, quality protocols, food safety and operational standards.”
Pizza Hut said it has formally filed a complaint with the relevant authorities to stop the misuse of “our trademark and ensure immediate action”.
The situation has sparked a debate on social media with people sharing mixed response.
A user wrote: “But accounting to pizza hut , Intially they had sell this branch and the buyer can use their name according to their deal. The deal breaker was pathetic taste so now, they are posting this after backlash”.
