Khan-e-Azam Banquet Hall among 41 businesses sealed in Lahore

LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 4i illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in LDA-controlled areas and different housing schemes on Tuesday.

LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 18 buildings in New Garden Town and Faisal Town, and 23 in New Muslim Town and Gujjarpura during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.

The sealed premises include Khan-e-Azam Banquet Hall, Gold Palace, Bilal Marriage Garden, Sher-e-Rabbani Marriage Hall, Nagina Marriage Hall, grocery stores, food outlets, workshops, offices, and other businesses.

The LDA teams also demolished several constructions in Jubilee Town and on Pine Avenue and Defence Road for violations of building bylaws.

LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams with the assistance of the Police and heavy machinery.

According to the LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings, and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
