ISLAMABAD – The post-mortem examinations of all victims killed in Tuesday’s suicide attack at the G-11 Islamabad court have been completed, with their bodies handed over to families, officials confirmed. Among the deceased is lawyer Zubair Aslam Ghuman. Hospital authorities said the identities of all victims have been verified.
Currently, 13 injured individuals are undergoing treatment at hospitals, with one patient reported to be in critical condition.
Following the attack, security in Islamabad’s Red Zone has been significantly strengthened. The Islamabad High Court and surrounding areas have been placed on high alert. Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar personally inspected the main gate and instructed that police vehicles be stationed at the other High Court gates. Unauthorized persons are not being allowed to gather outside the High Court premises.
The attack has drawn widespread condemnation from countries and international organizations, including the United States, China, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the European Union, France, Australia, and Qatar.
U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Netely Baker expressed solidarity with Pakistan, affirming America’s support in the fight against terrorism and backing the government’s efforts for peace and stability. The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan condemned the attack and extended condolences to the families of the deceased and injured.
Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the suicide attack and reaffirmed Turkey’s support for Pakistan in combating terrorism. British High Commissioner Jane Marriott expressed sympathy for the victims’ families. The European Union and the French Embassy condemned all forms of terrorism, offering condolences to the affected families. The Australian High Commission expressed solidarity with Pakistan’s citizens, while the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Islamabad and Wana attacks, rejecting all acts of violence and terrorism.
The Islamabad court and city authorities continue to review security measures in the wake of the attack.
