Notorious Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan leader Abdul Mannan, who was key operative in Bajaur attacks, has been killed in Kunar, Afghanistan.

The dead ringleader was member of TTP’s Malakand Shura and was involved in targeted killings, landmine blasts in Bajaur, attacks on security checkposts, and also in extortion incidents.

Hakeemullah was reportedly close ally of TTP leader Azmatullah Mehsud who orchestrated Bajaur attacks.

He entered terror outfit in 2007 and participated in numerous actions against security forces and civilians. His brother is also linked with banned organisation.

The recent development comes a week after agencies conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) that thwarted the TTP’s attempts to form offices in Balochistan.

Reports said CTD, intelligence agencies held several notorious terrorists, including high-value and most-wanted targets. Authorities disclosed that among those captured was a notorious and highly sought-after commander of the TTP.

Agencies said the arrested terrorists were involved in various activities against state and had connections with both domestic and international terrorist groups.

CTD is working to gather critical information about the covert activities of such networks within the country as law enforcement officials continue to investigate the detained individuals.
