RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army spokesperson and Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry is addressing key press conference, as he responded to terrorism, cross border attacks and May 9 violence.

Terrorism-Related Operations:
- Pakistan’s security forces conducted 59,775 successful intelligence-based operations in 2024.
- 925 terrorists, including key leaders of extremist groups, were eliminated.
- 169 operations carried out by Pakistan’s military, intelligence, police, and law enforcement agencies.
- Key terrorists killed include Miyaan Syed Irfan Qureshi (Khawarij leader), Mohsin Qadir, Ataullah (involved in diplomat attack), and leaders of Baloch terrorist factions.
- 27 Afghan terrorists were also eliminated.
May 9 Real Culprits to Face the music
Ahmed Sharif, reaffirmed commitment to bringing those responsible for the events of May 9 to justice. He stated, “Justice will continue until the main culprits of May 9 are held accountable.”
The statement was made in response to the violence and unrest that occurred on May 9, 2023, when protests turned into violent incidents, including attacks on military and government buildings.
The statement is seen as part of the broader efforts by Pakistan’s military and law enforcement to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents in the future.
Major Arrests
- Two suicide bombers from Afghanistan, Insaafullah and Rohullah, were arrested with 10 suicide vests and 250 kg of explosives.
- 14 wanted terrorists surrendered and joined the national mainstream.
Tribal Areas Progress
72% of tribal areas cleared of landmines as part of security measures.
Afghan Refugee Repatriation
815,000 Afghan refugees returned to Afghanistan since September 2023.
Regional Security Concerns
- 25 ceasefire violations and multiple false flag operations carried out by India along the Line of Control (LoC) this year.
- Armed forces are prepared to respond to any Indian aggression to defend national sovereignty.
Kashmir Issue
- Pakistan continues to support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination as per UN resolutions.
- Condemnation of Indian human rights violations in Kashmir, including extrajudicial killings and attacks on minorities.
Counter-Terrorism Commitment:
ISPR chief said Islamaabd reaffirmed its determination to eradicate terrorism and provide security for its citizens, continuing the fight until the last terrorist is eliminated.
