K-Electric (KE) has marked a significant advancement in its renewable energy journey with the successful bidding of its first 150 MW solar project at Winder and Bela in Balochistan.

The initiative, part of KE’s broader Power Acquisition Program (PAP), has drawn 15 bids from both local and international firms, reflecting strong confidence in KE’s sustainability goals and Pakistan’s economic potential. The initiative is a key milestone in KE’s commitment to achieving 30% renewable energy in its generation mix by 2030.

The company’s transparent bidding process underscores its dedication to sustainable energy solutions, with plans to add 1300 MW of renewable energy over the next five years. Syed MoonisAlvi, KE’s CEO, celebrated the development, noting, “Securing 15 bids for our solar energy projects highlights the trust in KE and Pakistan’s growing economic potential.
