Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) has arranged a camp in Brussels, the capital of Belgium in order to protest against endless curfew imposed by Indian authorities in occupied Kashmir.
The one-day camp with a banner titled, “108 Day of Curfew in Occupied Kashmir” was organized on Wednesday in front of EU’s External Action Service at place Schuman roundabout in EU’s headquarters Brussels.
During the camp, which held from 11:00 hours to 17:00 hours, organizers distributed brochures regarding the issue of Kashmir special latest situation including constant curfew and severe violation of human rights in Indian occupied Kashmir. The leaflets said, it is 108 days now that India has imposed curfew in the occupied Kashmir valley, which is witnessing a huge difficulties faced by the masses.
People who helped in setting up the camp were included prominent social figures Ch Khalid Joshi, Sardar Saddique, Mir Shahijahan, Ch Imran Saqib, Amir Naeem Sunny, Syed Azhar Shah and Mahar Nadeem.
The organizers used megaphone for raising voice in favour of oppressed people of occupied Kashmir and against the Indian authorities involved in targeting the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir. They also took signatures from the European people in favour of people of Kashmir suffering from Indian atrocities in the endless curfew. The one million signature move is an important part of Kashmir Council EU’s activities supporting oppressed Kashmiris in Europe.
On the occasion, Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed said, it is 108th day of imposition of curfew in occupied Kashmir by Indian authorities but international community is still silent on the issue. We were expecting from Europeans to play their role for end of curfew in Kashmir valley but so far, they are speechless on this matter. We set up this camp to remind Europe to pay attention towards this serious human issue in occupied Kashmir facing continual of curfew causing severe hardships for the people of that land.
Other speakers also called upon the international community specially world powers including U.S. and EU to take serious notice of the severe situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK). They should play their useful role for preventing human rights violation and just and peaceful resolution of issue of Jammu and Kashmir, the speakers underlined.
