Kazakhstan envoy reaffirms desire for lasting partnership with Pakistan

Ambassador of Kazakhstan, MrYerzhanKistafin has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Pakistan in multiple sectors including trade, investment, tourism and energy.

He was speaking at a conference titled “Rising Kazakhstan: Agenda for building regional cooperation” organized by the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS).

Islamabad holds critical importance in Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, particularly in South Asia, said the ambassador adding development of strong and mutually beneficial ties with Pakistan is of principal importance between the two countries and there exists enormous potential for cooperation in a wide range of sectors.

Kazakhstan will continue to support Pakistan in its endeavours within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) framework, he said hoping the SCO heads of government meeting in October in Islamabad would usher in an era of peace, progress and prosperity for the region.

Regarding the participants’ views about Kazakhstan, he said the conference proved an exceptional platform to engage in meaningful dialogue on Kazakhstan’s progress, while also highlighting the significance of fostering cooperation with Pakistan, which is a key partner of Kazakhstan in South Asia.

The ambassador expressed confidence that partnership with Pakistan would grow stronger, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation for the benefit of peoples of the two countries as well as for the region.

About Kazakhstan’s national agenda, he said it held key not only to the country’s internal development but also for enhancing cooperation in the broader Central and South Asian region. He added that Pakistan and Kazakhstan could extend their cooperation in business development, energy security, water resource management, and environmental protection to further deepening their ties.

President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-JomartTokayev in his recent address emphasized the key goals of his nation namely, sustainable socio-economic progress, the realization of citizens’ potential, and the enhancement of national well-being.

Our president talked about political and social reforms, economic reforms and development, enhancing the investment climate and improving business conditions, and tax reforms.
