In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health condition of illegally detained Kashmiri business icon, Zahoor Ahamad Watali.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the aged businessmen is suffering from multiple ailments and despite repeated requisi-tions the jail authorities turned a deaf ear to the calls. He said that Watali’s condition is said to be critical in Tihar jail. Quoting his family members, the spokesman said that the ailing businessman has been denied proper medical treatment and other basic amenities.

The APHC spokesman urged the United Nations Council for Human Rights to take serious cogni-zance of the deteriorating health conditions of the inmates of Tihar jail belonging to the resistance movement of Kashmir.

APHC-AJK leader Sheikh Abdul Mateen in a statement issued in Islamabad said that Zahoor Wa-tali was admitted to a hospital in New Delhi but his health deteriorated due to lack of proper treatment. He said that he was transferred to Tihar Jail in the same condition and his life was in grave danger.

He appealed to the international human rights organizations to impress upon India to provide ade-quate medical treatment to the detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and workers in jails.

The APHC-AJK leader called on the UN Secre-tary General to do his part to secure the release of all Kashmiri political prisoners in the wake of the deadly corona virus spread.
