A One-day cultural program was organized at Punjab Arts Council in collaboration with Azad Kashmir Youth and Culture Department.
The special guest of the cultural program was Azad Jammu and Kashmir Minister Mr. Akbar Ibrahim, while Secretary Youth and Culture Department Mr. Chaudhry Raqib, Coordinator to PM Mr. Imran Jafri, DG Sports Youth and Culture Mehrban Chaudhry, Director Sports Amjad Mughal Cultural Officer Mr. Liaqat joined the events special guests.
On the occasion, chief guest Akbar Ibrahim said that the purpose of the cultural festival is to highlight the Kashmiri culture in the twin cities. According to geologists, Kashmir was a free and independent state in 5000 BC. In 1586, the sun of Kashmir’s independence had set in such a way that the glory of independence was extinguished forever.When the sub-continent was partitioned in 1947, there was a hope and hope in the hearts of Kashmiris that they will be able to decide own destiny, but Kashmir came out of the clutches of an old and weak imperialism and got caught in the clutches of a powerful colonialist. But it is hopeful that Kashmiris will soon get freedom from the occupation of India. Soon the sun of freedom will rise in the occupied valley, he said.
Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed said that poets and writers play the most important role in keeping the culture of any nation alive, who use their God-gifted talents with the skill of the pen to preserve this speech forever.
Sohail Abbasi and Khwaja Ubaid-ur-Rehman presented the Sufi speech and brought to our ears the Saif-ul-Muluk in the cultural program. Henna Abbasi presented Kashmiri cultural music and entertained the audience with Kashmiri folk songs. A skit on the ongoing atrocities on Kashmiris was also presented in the cultural festival. It was written and contributed by Zohaib Ali, while the characters of the skit were Ali Qureshi, Hamad Abbasi, Saad Zulfiqar, Sardar Daniyal, Hisham, Shariq, Obaid Zeeshan, Asim Naveed, Sohaib, Saad Hashmi, Shahzeb, Sadia Noor, Samin Ara, Laiba and Nimra. At the end of the program, the chief guest was also given a shield.
A large number of Kashmiris from the root cities participated in the cultural festival.
