LAHORE – A Karachi-based woman was allegedly raped multiple times after she was tricked by her online game friend into travelling to Lahore over the promise of marriage.

A case has been registered at the North Cantt police station under sections 376 (rape), 109 (abetment of ‘zina-bil-jabr’) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The victim told police that she befriended a man while playing the online game, adding that the suspect asked her to come to Lahore and promised to marry her.

The girl reached Punjab capital on November 23 by train and she was taken to the Rose Hotel where the suspected raped her for three days.

The man, later, dropped her off at the Lahore Railways Station on November 26 and fled.

The victim said that while she was waiting at the station, two men lured her into the trap of offering a job.

She said that the suspects took her to a house on Sarwar Road where they raped her multiple times, adding that she eventually managed to escape.

Meanwhile, Punjab Inspector General has taken notice of the incident and ordered the immediate arrest of the suspects.
