KARACHI – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cloudy weather and rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms for Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh from Thursday to Saturday (February 29-March 02).
As per the synoptic situation, a strong westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of Pakistan on Thursday (February 29). It may grip most parts of the country on Friday (March 01) and persist till Saturday (March 02).
Under the influence of this weather system, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Khairpur and Mirpurkhas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Isolated hailstorms are also likely during the period. Partly cloudy weather with windstorm/gusty winds is expected in other parts of the province. Wind-thunderstorm/hailstorm may damage loose structures like electric poles and solar panels.
Karachi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 17-19 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.
Hyderabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 15-17 C on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours. Mithi remained the coldest place in the province where temperature dropped to 10 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 16 per cent.
In Karachi, minimum temperature was recorded at 17 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 24 per cent.
In Hyderabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 15 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 30 per cent.
