Karachi, Sindh weather update; more rains predicted

KARACHI – More intermittent rains and gusty winds are predicted in Karachi and parts of Sindh on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate eastern and upper parts of Pakistan. A trough of westerly wave prevails over northern parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds are predicted in Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Qambar Shahdadkot, Tharparkar, Ghotki, Dadu and Jamshoro on Tuesday night. Cloudy weather and light rain is predicted in Karachi and coastal areas of Sindh.

On Wednesday, cloudy weather and light rain is expected in Karachi and coastal areas of Sindh.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 30-32°C on Wednesday and 29-31°C on Thursday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 31-33°C on Wednesday and 30-32°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred at a few places in Karachi and Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Sukkur remained the hottest place in Sindh where the maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Maximum temperature in Mithi, Mohenjo-Daro and Dadu was recorded at 34°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 30°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 78 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 72 per cent.
