KARACHI – More rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Karachi and parts of Sindh on Sunday night and Monday with occasional gaps.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate upper/central parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen on July 22 evening/night. A trough of westerly wave lies over the upper parts of the country.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Dadu on Sunday night.
On Monday, mainly hot and very humid weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected at isolated places in Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Sanghar, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, and Sajawal during the evening/night.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Monday and Tuesday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Monday and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, rain winds/thundershowers occurred in the port city and at the isolated places in the province.

Mohenjo-Daro and Jacobabad remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. The maximum temperature in Dadu was recorded at 43°C.
In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 83 per cent.
In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 46 per cent.
