KARACHI – Rains and gusty winds are likely in Karachi and parts of Sindh on Thursday night and Friday, says the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Per the synoptic situation, monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan. They will likely penetrate the central parts of the country tomorrow. A westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, mainly partly cloudy/humid weather is likely in most districts of the province on Thursday night. Cloudy weather with light rain is expected in Karachi and the coastal areas of Sindh.
On Friday, rain-wind/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Mithi, Tharparker, Umerkot, Sanghar, Khairpur, Kashmore, Sukkur and Ghotki. Cloudy weather with light rain may occur in Karachi and coastal areas. Humid weather will likely prevail elsewhere in the province.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Friday and 34-36°C on Saturday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Friday and 34-36°C on Saturday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours. Mohenjo-Daro and Sukkur remained the hottest places in Sindh where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Maximum temperature in Nawabshah and Dadu was recorded at 38°C.
In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 81 per cent.
In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 72 per cent.
