Karachi has reported 11 new cases of dengue in the past 24 hours, according to the Sindh Health Department. The newly confirmed cases include three in the Central district, three in East, one in Korangi, two in South, and one each in Malir and Kemari districts. With these latest infections, the total number of dengue cases in Karachi for November 2024 has risen to 118, bringing the overall tally for the year to 1,864.

The city’s health authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely to curb the spread of the disease. Meanwhile, Sindh has also witnessed a sharp rise in malaria cases, with over 100,000 new infections reported in the second week of October.

Larkana has been the hardest-hit district, reporting 11,588 cases, followed by Khairpur with 10,681 cases. Other districts such as Qamar, Mirpurkhas, and Dadu have also seen significant malaria outbreaks. Karachi’s District West accounted for 155 malaria cases, while District East reported 135.

Health officials are urging the public to take precautions against both dengue and malaria, as the province grapples with a growing number of vector-borne diseases.
