Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Munem Zafar Khan has stated that the party’s “Rights for Karachi” movement is a stand against the oppressive feudal and landlord mindset that continues to exploit Karachi’s resources and hinder its development.

He emphasized that under the leadership of Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, this movement has now expanded nationwide, evolving into the “Haq Do Awam Ko” (Give People Their Rights) campaign. Khan made these remarks while addressing membership camps in Quaidabad and Gulshan-e-Hadeed during his visit to Malir district, where JI Malir district Ameer Muhammad Islam and Secretary Kamran Nawaz were also present.

He criticized the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for its 16-year governance in Sindh, claiming that despite their long rule, Karachi continues to deteriorate. “The city looks like a relic of the past. Even minor rainfall causes floods, roads are crumbling, and basic utilities like electricity and water are scarce. K-Electric’s exploitation is at its peak, while inflation and unemployment have made life unbearable for the people,” said Khan.

He urged Karachi residents to awaken and resist these corrupt feudal lords and power-hungry politicians. “How long will the people remain hostage to these thieves and looters? Jamaat-e-Islami is committed to securing the rights of Karachi’s 35 million citizens and will not rest until these rights are achieved,” he asserted. Khan further criticized the Karachi mayor, saying the city is regressing under the rule of Murtaza Wahab, who, according to him, became mayor through backdoor politics. He held the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), responsible for the current state of the city, particularly highlighting their involvement in the controversial Form 47 issue. Muhammad Islam, JI Malir district Ameer, emphasized that they are organizing large-scale membership drives to unite Karachi’s youth in the struggle against this oppressive system.

He reiterated that under the leadership of Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami is advancing towards a major revolution to change the status quo.
