KARACHI – As many as 14 bodies were suspiciously found in southern port city of Karachi in a single day on Sunday.
The development raises eyebrows but the Edhi foundation has confirmed it to private news channel that all were died due to scorching heat in the financial hub of Pakistan.
It said most of the deceased were drug addicts and they were under the influence of drugs when they died due to severe heat.
The fatalities happen amid rising temperatures in Karachi as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted above-normal temperatures in the city in June.
The Met office has forecast a further hike in the temperature in Karachi today. It said the temperature in the metropolis is expected to hover between 38 to 40°C on June 24, with 76% humidity.
