Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi marked the fifth day of its month-long “World Culture Festival Karachi” with a lively performance of “Karachi KaBicchu,” a farcical comedy directed by the esteemed Khalid Ahmed. The play, an adaptation of Molière’s “Tartuffe” set in modern-day Karachi, humorously explores the antics of two neighboring families, the Khaans and Sindhis, with a comedic twist delivered by their mischievous servants.
Lasting 60 minutes, the play kept the audience engaged with witty dialogue and well-timed humor, prompting continuous laughter throughout the theater. The performance featured a talented ensemble cast including Fazal Ahmed Chishti, Waqas Akhtar, Usama Khan, Zubair Baloch, Arshad Sheikh, Yasmeen Usman, HusnainFalak, AsimKhattak, and Jibran Khan, all of whom brought the fast-paced narrative to life.
The reception was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees praising the cast’s ability to blend satire with entertainment, making it a highlight of the ongoing festival.
