Karachi experienced the coldest day of the current winter season as the temperature dropped to 09°C on Friday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is predicted in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Moderate to dense fog will likely persist over Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Nawabshah, Dadu, Larkana, Tandojam, Mohenjo-Daro and surrounding areas.
Karachi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 08°C and 10°C on Saturday, between 07°C and 09°C on Sunday, and between 08°C and 10°C on Monday.
Hyderabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 06°C and 08°C on Saturday, between 05°C and 07°C on Sunday, and between 06°C and 08°C on Monday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours. Moderate to dense fog prevailed over the upper districts.
Mohenjo-Daro remained the coldest place in Sindh, where the temperature dropped to 03°C. The minimum temperature in Mithi was recorded at 04°C, and in Sukkur, Nawabshah and Dadu at 05°C.
In Karachi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 09°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 16 per cent.
In Hyderabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 07°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 49 per cent.
