At 06:40 pm, the AQI of Karachi was recorded at 179, making the port city the fourth most polluted city on the globe.

Lahore grabbed the first slot with an AQI level of 283 (very unhealthy).

India’s capital Delhi remained in the second spot with an AQI level of 267 followed by Kolkata where AQI was recorded at 265.

Medical experts have suggested taking necessary measures to avoid smog-related hazards.

“Avoid going outdoors unnecessarily. If unavoidable, wear glasses and masks while going outdoors. Wash hands, face and eyes on returning indoors. Extra care should be given to elderly people and children”, said Dr Abdul Rauf, a family physician running a clinic at Usman Gunj, a congested locality in Northern Lahore.
