Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) parliamentary leader Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Lutfur Rehman has asked the authorities concerned to complete repair and restoration work of Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) at the earliest in order to ensure water availability for timely irrigation of lands.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting which was attended by members of the Chamber of Agriculture Union and officials of the Irrigation and CRBC departments here at Shorkot area. During the meeting the farmers’ delegation headed by Haji Abdul Rasheed Dhap apprised the meeting about the problems being faced by growers and presented suggestions pertaining to ongoing restoration and repair work of the CRBC which was breached at several points due to recent flooding.
The JUI-F Parliamentary Leader said that pragmatic efforts were being made by the party’s leadership to take problem of growers with relevant authorities and get them resolved as soon as possible, adding that issue had also been discussed with the departments concerned to expedite repair work on the canal.
