At least one journalist was injured in an Israeli attack on southern Lebanon on Saturday, according to local media affiliated with the Hezbollah group.

Broadcaster Al-Manar TV reported that after its team was caught in an Israeli army strike, cameraman Khidir Marquise sustained minor injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital in the Marjayoun district.

“Our correspondent in Marjayoun, Aline Samaan, survived the hostile Zionist bombing that targeted the Al-Khardali area and the Litani River under Deir Mimas,” the official Lebanese National News Agency reported.

Israeli warplanes targeted an area near a checkpoint of the Lebanese army and the UN Interim Peace Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the Al-Khardali Valley three times, according to the agency. Following the attack, the Lebanese army took precautionary measures by closing the road in both directions to ensure the safety of civilians.

A harrowing video captured by journalists passing through Al-Khardali Valley depicts a bomb landing directly in the middle of the road, resulting in a violent explosion.

Tensions have flared along the Lebanese-Israeli border amid intermittent exchanges of fire between the Lebanese group Hezbollah and Israeli forces in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.

The border tension came amid an Israeli mili-tary campaign in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7.—AFP
