Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has paid tributes to PTI officials and workers from across the province who attended the Islamabad public meeting.

In a statement issued on Monday, the CM thanked lakhs of party workers, from the bottom of his heart, adding that PM Imran Khan has won the referendum against the opposition as a sea of people have vehemently voted in his favour.

The ‘captain’ has proved his political prowess and showed that PM Imran Khan was the only national leader. Imran Khan’s thought-provoking speech has won the hearts of the nation as it is a beacon for the nation; he said and maintained that the ‘captain’ has bowled the opponents clean. The historic meeting was written on the wall for the joint opposition that cannot compete with the prime minister in public popularity, he concluded.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has told that the wheat would be procured from farmers at the rate of Rs.2200 per maund. The provincial cabinet has approved buying 3.5 million metric tons of wheat and this target could be enhanced if needed, he added.

The government would ensure the protection of farmers’ rights and effective measures would be taken to curb the illegal transportation of wheat.

An eight-member committee has been constituted at the provincial level for the wheat procurement drive and monitoring committees would also monitor the procurement campaign at different levels while ministers, special assistants and advisors would monitor the procurement campaign in the respective districts, he concluded.
