Srinagar

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum (JKYSF), Umar Aadil Dar, has hailed the United Nations human rights experts’ call on Indian government to end gross human rights violations in the territory.
Umer Adil Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar also appeal to the UN Secretary General to take effective measures for the resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute. “Kashmir dispute has multiplied human tragedies. It is because of this lingering issue that millions of people are facing immense hardships and a state of uncertainty and instability is looming over whole South Asian region,” he said.
Hailing the UN human rights experts for evincing their keen interest towards the issue, Umar Aadil Dar said, “It is encouraging but it must move beyond a just statement.” This reflects that the international community is concerned about the unprecedented human rights situation in Kashmir and the grave consequences for the region if the dispute is not resolved, he added.
The JKYSF Chairman said that New Delhi must shun its military approach and show magnanimity for the early and honourable resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations for peace and stability in the region.—KMS
