Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Saturday demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and announced launching an anti-rigging movement across the country.

According to a private TV channel, JI Spokesperson Qaiser Sharif said that the CEC should admit the rigging in the general election 2024 and resign from his post.

The JI spokesperson said that the revelations of the Rawalpindi Commissioner support the position of his party and hopefully, with time, more revelations related to the rigging will also come out. The JI spokesperson said his party had demanded the commission on the issues related to rigging in the elections after the initial results on February 10. He said the meeting of JI’s Central Majlis Shura was held in Mansurah and they are going to give a clear agenda to the nation against election rigging.

He also informed that the Jamaat-e-Islami will conduct a protest movement across the country against the election results while Sirajul Haq will address a press conference in Mansoora tomorrow at 3 pm.
