The City of Lights ‘Karachi’ has undoubtedly created history in welfare services to the mankind and among the non-governmental organizations working 24/7 in Karachi, the Jafaria Disaster-Management Cell (JDC) is one of the prominent welfare organizations rooted strongly in the less-privileged communities for the past 12 years.

It has set up Pakistan’s first free state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratory where absolutely free tests are conducted for the general public.

In strict adherence to international standards, the facility ensures patient safety by adopting one time use equipment policies, thereby maintaining the highest levels of hygiene. Used equipment is promptly and safely discarded, guaranteeing a clean and safe environment for all patients,” said Zafar Abbas, the Founder & General Secretary of JDC.

Zafar Abbas has set a visionary goal of establishing 50 dialysis centers across Pakistan, and his resolute dedication has seen this vision come to life. In a country with over 17 million kidney patients and limited resources, this initiative addresses a pressing healthcare issue. Dialysis treatment, which typically costs over $3000 per year per patient, is often financially out of reach for many, making the need for such centers even more vital.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation and the growing number of patients in need, JDC has launched free dialysis centers in various cities, including Karachi. These centers have become beacons of hope for individuals who were previously burdened by the high costs of treatment. On a special visit to the JDC state-of-the-art lab, Chairman & CEO Pakistan Observer Faisal Zahid Malik commended the services of Zafar Abbas for the welfare of humanity. He is a role model and has demonstrated that with the efforts of a single person, entire system can be changed/overhauled, said Mr Faisal.

“Pakistan is the only country where with the help of donations such institutions as JDC are doing great service to humanity. Their examples are rare and services quite valuable, said Faisal Zahid Malik.

There is a need to support the welfare work of personalities like Zafar Abbas in this era. He said that Pakistan Observer would stand by JDC in every step to promote welfare works. Mr Faisal Zahid Malik appreciated the performance of the expert team at the hi-tech laboratory, built with a huge sum of billions.

He congratulated Zafar Abbas and the team on their will for the great work for the welfare of humanity. Mr Faisal Zahid Malik urged the philanthropists to support JDC and appealed to the government to recognize Zafar Abbas’s services for human welfare at the official level and honor him. Zafar Abbas is providing free public facility through this well-equipped advanced state-of-the-art laboratory constructed with Rs7 billion and the nation is proud of him. Chairman of Pakistan Observer also visited JDC School and other facilities for the public.
