Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif Monday filed a petition to be a party in the case of the cancellation of property deed of 128 kanals piece of land in Jati Umra.

According to a private TV channel, Yousuf Abbas has challenged the cancellation of the deed in a civil court of Lahore with a demand to reinstate it in their name.

The PML-N leaders Maryam Nawaz and her father, former premier Mian Nawaz Sharif sometimes ago submitted an application to be a party in the said case.

The civil court called the lawyers of the petitioners—Maryam and Nawaz Sharif—but they did not appear before the judge to plead the case. Anyhow, the court dismissed the petition seeing the lack of interest of the petitioners in the Jati Umra case.
