Thilina Kandambi, who has been the successful coach for the Jaffna team in both editions of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) may get an opportu-nity to be associated with the BCCI-run Indian Pre-mier League (IPL).

“Yes, I have received some “indirect” hints from India. It is not a direct call from any of the team owners but I have several friends and agents known there and an offer has reached to me”, the former Sri Lankan cricketer-turned coach Thilima Kandambi, speaking exclusively over the telephone said.
“It is my ambition to coach in the IPL, because it is the world’s biggest tournament and thus will get good exposure too”, the 39-year-old Thilina added.
So, if he gets some coaching role in the IPL, will be yet another Sri Lankan to work with the world’s biggest league. Mahela Jayawrdene, Kumar Sangakkara and Muthiah Muralitharan are already associated in different roles with the different IPL teams.
Nuwan Seneviratne (nicknamed Bawa) is asso-ciated with the Indian team as a specialist thrower.
