Jacobabad sizzles at 51°C as heatwave continues in Sindh

KARACHI – Heatwaves will continue to prevail in most districts of Sindh on Friday and Saturday. Hot and humid weather is expected in coastal areas.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave persists over northern parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, heatwave conditions will persist in most districts of Sindh on Friday and during the weekend. Hot and humid weather is likely in the coastal areas of the province. Gusty/dust-raising winds are expected in the southern districts during the period.

Karachi’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 41-43°C on Friday and 36-38°C Saturday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 46-48°C on Friday and 44-46°C on Saturday.
Meanwhile, heatwaves prevailed in most districts of during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed in coastal areas.
Jacobabad remained the hottest place in Sindh where the maximum temperature was recorded at 51°C. Maximum temperature in Dadu and Mohenjo-Daro was recorded at 49°C, Larkana at 48°C, Padidan and Rohri at 47°C.
In Karachi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 63 per cent.
In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 30 per cent.
