ISLAMABAD – The leadership of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee was acting in line with what they described as an Indian agenda, the security sources said while citing a senior official on Friday.
The official said Pakistan and its people had never been intimidated by India and would continue to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and national interests.
He made these remarks during a detailed briefing with media influencers on regional security and Pakistan-India relations on Friday.
The security sources said that India is attempting to create instability in Pakistan and the wider region to divert attention from its domestic challenges. They said the Indian leadership was reluctant to accept what he described as “ground realities” and claimed that India’s internal challenges, including growing intolerance and religious extremism, were contributing to instability within the country.
The ideology of Hindutva had undermined India’s secular identity and accused the ruling leadership of promoting expansionist ambitions through the concept of “Akhand Bharat”, he said, adding that India’s armed forces had become increasingly influenced by the political agenda of the ruling party.
Security sources also alleged that India’s democratic institutions, including freedom of expression and press freedom, were under increasing state control, describing the country as moving toward a “police state.” They claimed that deepening social divisions and discrimination against minorities had weakened India’s image and could lead to further internal unrest.
During the briefing, the official expressed concern over the treatment of Muslims and other religious minorities in India, saying that they faced systemic discrimination. He also claimed that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) remained under heavy military deployment and strict security restrictions.
India, the security official said, used allegations against Pakistan and so-called “false flag” operations to divert international attention from internal movements and regional issues. He maintained that a stable, prosperous, and moderate Pakistan was viewed as a challenge by advocates of Hindutva ideology, who, according to the briefing, sought to shape anti-Pakistan narratives through Indian political and media platforms.
