Ambassador of Italy, Mr Andreas Ferrarese, while addressing a reception held at his residence and attended mainly by the noted businessmen and corporate heads of Pakistan, Italy and other European nations announced establishment of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in Islamabad, Pakistan.
This indeed is a momentous occasion as the ITA has been instrumental in promoting the international business development of the Italian companies and fostering foreign investment in Italy, the ambassador said.
He also introduced to the guests, Director of the ITA Mr Salvatore Parano who according to the ambassador would pave the way for greater B2B cooperation between the business firms of the two countries. The newly-arrived First Secretary, Mr Augusto Palmieri was also introduced to the guests.
Ambassador Andreas told that the ITA was established more than 100 years ago with a mission to assist the Italian business companies and investors explore new business opportunities overseas.
We look forward to having an active engagement with the ITA team in Pakistan as it would definitely assist the embassy as well as the Italian companies in devising innovative trade strategy and investment.
Mr Salvatore Parano on the occasion gave a presentation on the occasion and highlighted the role of the Italian SMEs, industrial districts and companies in international trade and cooperation. He held the establishment of the ITA office in Islamabad as a significant success for both countries. With a modern and motivated organizational structure and a global network of overseas offices, ITA provides Italian small and medium-sized businesses with information, assistance, consulting, promotion, and training. It also employs state-of-the-art multi-channel promotion and communication tools to showcase the excellence of ‘Made in Italy’ worldwide.
