Punjab Arts Council organized two day Islamic calligraphy & painting exhibition in collaboration with VSCOPK.
The chief guest of the opening ceremony of the exhibition was Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal Amir Fida Paracha.
Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed, Naheed Manzoor, Muhammad Sulaiman and Mian Afzal Javed were also present on the occasion.Special Guest, Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal Amir Fida Paracha said that calligraphy is the common heritage of Islamic countries; it is also a means of connecting and deepening the relations of Islamic societies. The art of calligraphy and all other real arts keep man safe from deviating from the paths leading to God. He said that God is the creator and manifestation of beauty. Finally, the chief guest also congratulated all the painters and calligraphers for presenting the best work.
Naheed Manzoor said that the colors of nature and earth are prominent in the paintings. All the children have presented the positive face of
Pakistan in front of the world. He said that we should encourage our children towards formal education as well as non-formal activities. Director Waqar Ahmad said that combining various themes in an exhibition is also an art. Arts Council has always provided a platform to the youth so that they can present their work to the world. Punjab government’s initiatives for the welfare of art and artists are exemplary. Mian Afzal Javed said that the exhibitions will promote positive activities among the youth, the skills of young artists will be further developed and new works of art will be seen. The exhibition featured Islamic calligraphy and artworks on mountains, birds of prey, villages and other themes. Waqar Ali, Arsalan Ali, Ahmed, Hamza Ali, Shah Rukh, Maham, Ayesha, Bashira, Fatima, Tabsum, Khola Khan and other painters and calligraphers were awarded .
