The federal capital is all set to receive President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Abu Dhabi H.E. Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan who is arriving today (Friday) accompanied by a high-level delegation.
The district administration has announced local holiday in Islamabad to make the arrival of the high-level dignitaries smooth and hassle-free. Arrangements are underway to enhance the federal capital’s green character by cleaning the roads and trimming the wild grass and green belts.
Besides installing flowers, leaflets and the national flags of the UAE and Pakistan along the roads, huge portraits of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are also adding to the grace and grandeur of the federal capital.
The state buildings and the national icons have also been lit up with the colours of the UAE national flag on this occasion reflecting strong bond of friendship and deep-rooted ties between the two nations. According to an official of the district administration, folk dances of the Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) would be the highlight of the festivities upon arrival of the respected guest. Similarly, colourful tableau and cultural show will feature the state guest’s reception.
This is the second visit of the Emirati president this year, as earlier he arrived in Rahim Yar Khan in January this year. However, Friday’s trip, according to the Foreign Office (FO) is going to be his first official visit as president.
President Al-Nahyan will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, said a statement of the FO emphasizing both President Al-Nahyan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will “exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.”
Prime Minister will host a reception for the UAE President while there will also be a delegation level and one-on-one meeting between the two sides. President Zardari will also hold a meeting with his UAE counterpart and the two sides will discuss ways and means to further strengthen relations and cooperation in diverse sectors, according to the sources.
