PTI Protest
Despite stern measures, Imran Khan’s party leaders decided to go ahead with protest on November 24. Party chief, who remained behind bars, called for the protests to denounce the stolen mandate, arrests, and the 26th amendment, which he believes strengthens a dictatorial regime.
Ahead of the protest, Section 144 has been imposed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and across Punjab, banning public gatherings.
These measures are aimed at ensuring public safety amid concerns of anti-state activities, will remain in place until November 26. In Lahore, authorities have also requested the closure of Ring Road due to potential unrest.
