ISLAMABAD – Residents of the capital city are expressing growing frustration as several important routes have reportedly been blocked with barricades, causing major inconvenience.
Locals filmed closure of road connecting Super Market to Marriott Hotel which remained closed, while access via D-Chowk route has also been restricted. These sudden closures disrupted routine movement in central Islamabad, leaving commuters stranded and facing longer detours.

Citizens have raised concerns over the lack of clear communication, saying the Islamabad local administration has yet to issue any official update or explanation regarding the road closures. The absence of guidance added to confusion, especially during peak travel hours when traffic pressure is already high.
With key lanes sealed and alternative routes unclear, residents are calling for immediate clarification and a proper traffic advisory to ease ongoing disruptions across the city.
Last month, the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi witnessed a massive law enforcement deployment and prolonged closures due to proposed US-Iran Talks in capital.
