More intermittent monsoon rains with isolated heavy falls are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night and Friday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, more intermittent monsoon rains with isolated heavy falls are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, Upper Punjab, Kashmir, Upper/Central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday night and Friday.
Downpour may cause urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Nowshera, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot and Lahore.
Widespread rains may also cause flash flooding in local nullahs of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat and Kashmir. Landslides may occur in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galiyat and Kashmir.
Islamabad’s daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 29°C and 31°C on Friday and between 30°C and 32°C on Saturday.
Rawalpindi’s daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 28°C and 30°C on Friday and between 29°C and 31°C on Saturday.
Over the past 24 hours, Widespread rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in Pothohar region, Islamabad and at scattered places in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. Heavy downpours also occurred during this period.
