ISLAMABAD – More monsoon rains with isolated heavy falls are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday evening and night, as well as over the next three days, with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over upper parts of the country.
Under these conditions, more monsoon rains and gusty winds are predicted in the twin cities, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and northeastern Balochistan on Tuesday evening/night and the next three days with occasional gaps.
Isolated heavy rains are predicted in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, northeast Punjab and Kashmir. Widespread rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, northeast Punjab and Kashmir.
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Okara, Nowshera and Peshawar. Landslides/mudslides may cause road closures in the vulnerable areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 34°C and 36°C on Wednesday and between 33°C and 35°C on Thursday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 34°C and 36°C on Wednesday and between 33°C and 35°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, rains with heavy falls occurred in Islamabad, upper Punjab, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and southeast Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Dalbandin and Nokkundi remained the hottest places in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. The maximum temperature in Chilas was recorded at 43°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 96 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 92 per cent.
