ISLAMABAD – Scattered rains are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday night and Monday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over upper parts of the country which will likely strengthen tonight.
Under the influence of these weather systems, mainly dry weather is predicted in most parts of Pakistan on Sunday night and Monday.
However, cloudy weather with rain wind/thunderstorms (light snowfall over high mountains) is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Potohar region, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. Smog will likely prevail over most areas of Punjab. Moderate to dense fog is also likely in isolated plain areas during morning/night hours.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 13-15°C on Monday and 12-14°C on Tuesday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 15-17°C on Monday and 14-16°C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan and cold weather in hilly areas during the last 24 hours. Smog/fog prevailed in most districts of Punjab.
Leh remained the coldest place in Pakistan where the mercury dropped 02°C below the freezing point.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 14°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 95 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 16°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 81 per cent.
