Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pakistan weather; more rains expected

ISLAMABAD – More rains are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday night and Saturday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of Pakistan and very cold in upper parts on Friday night Saturday.

Light rain/light snowfall over hills is expected at isolated places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, twin cities, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat and adjoining areas. Smog/moderate to dense fog is expected to persist in most plain areas of Punjab and upper/central Sindh.

Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 00-02°C on Saturday and -01°C to 01°C on Sunday.

Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between -04°C to -02°C on Saturday and -03 to -01°C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts and extremely cold in upper parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours.

However, rain occurred in northeast Punjab and Kashmir. Smog/fog persisted in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Skardu remained the coldest place in Pakistan where the temperature dropped 13°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Leh was recorded at -12°C, Gupis -09°C, Astore, Ziarat, Gilgit -08°C, Quetta, Kalat -07°C, Hunza, Bagrote -06°C, and Kalam at -05°C.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 01°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 59 percent.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 03°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 54 percent.
