Shalimar police have arrested three persons including a woman involved in robbery of SP (Investigation) District Bannu’s family and recovered vehicle, wireless set and police lights from them.
SP Bannu Police, Nisar Ahmed Khan was accompanying his family last month on Nov 30 in the federal capital’s Sector E-11 when three gangsters claiming themselves to be CIA officers intercepted his vehicle and took away jewelry, valuables and even the personal revolver of the Bannu police officer.
Later the news circulated on media and Nisar Ahmed Khan was quoted as saying he though Islamabad a safe city but in fact it was at the mercy of robbers. On Tuesday, however, while addressing a press conference, SP (Saddar) Omer Khan announced the suspects have been arrested.
He said that a case was registered on November 30, 2019 against the unidentified dacoits under section 392/34 PPC a Shalimar police station.
Following the incident, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan directed the DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed to ensure immediate arrest of those criminals involved in it, , SP (Saddar) Omer Khan said that.
The SP said that DIG (Operations) constituted a team under his supervision including ASPs Rana Abdul Wahab, Hamza Aman Ullah, Station House Officer of Shalimar police station Malik Bashir, Sub-Inspector Mian Khurram and others.
This team investigated the case by using modern techniques and succeeded to arrest three persons including a woman.
They have been identified as Fahad Bilal and his wife Rabeea Bilal residents of PWD Society and Muneer resident of CBR Housing Society. During the preliminary investigation, they have confessed to use fake official number plates ad police lights on private vehicles and loot people at gun point on the pretext of searching their vehicles after portraying themselves as officials of CIA or anti-corruption department.
They also admitted to chase vehicles and loot them after taking advantage of darkness at deserted places.
They have confessed to strike at 6-8 places in Islamabad and cases have been registered against them at Shalimar, Margallah and Aabpara police stations. Police also recovered wireless sets, police lights and vehicle from them while further investigation is underway from them. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed have appreciated this performance of Shalimar police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the police team.
