Islamabad, Pakistan weather update; scattered rains, gusty winds likely

ISLAMABAD – Scattered rains and gusty winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night and Friday with occasional gaps.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave will likely approach the upper and western parts of the country tonight.
Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places in Potohar region, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday night and Friday with occasional gaps.
Heavy falls and hailstorms may also occur at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during evening/night.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Friday and 32-34°C on Saturday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Friday and 33-35°C on Saturday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.
Turbat remained the hottest place in Pakistan where the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. The maximum temperature in Sibbi was recorded at 42°C and in Dadu at 41°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 59 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 33 per cent.
