ISLAMABAD – Mainly dry weather is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday with a further dip in the temperatures.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. Under these conditions, mainly dry weather is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan, while cold in hilly areas on Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday.
Smog with shallow fog in patches may develop over a few plain areas of Punjab. Persistent dryness and clear sky will cause a further dip in the temperatures.
Islamabad’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 05°C and 07°C on Monday and Tuesday and between 04°C and 06°C on Wednesday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 09°C and 11°C on Monday and Tuesday and between 08°C and 10°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, dry weather persisted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours. Cold weather prevailed in the upper parts of the country. However, smog prevailed over a few plain areas of Punjab.
Skardu remained the coldest place in Pakistan, where the mercury dropped 06°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Leh was recorded at -05°C, in Babusar at -04°C, in Ziarat at -03°C, and in Gilgit, Astore and Gupis at -02°C.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 45 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 31 per cent.
