ISLAMABAD – Director General Excise Irfan Nawaz Memon has announced that two M-TAG centers in Islamabad will now operate 24/7.
He stated that the move is aimed at easing the process of obtaining an M-TAG for vehicles and improving traffic flow on motorways and toll plazas.
Authorities hope that these measures will provide significant convenience to the public.
24/7 M-Tag Centres Locations in Islamabad
The centers, located at 26 No. Chungi and Satra Meel Phulgran Toll Plaza, will remain open around the clock for citizens to obtain M-TAG for their vehicles.
Memon further disclosed that the operating hours of other MTAG counters across the federal capital have also been extended.
MTAG counters at Kachnar Park Sector I-8 and Sector F-9 Park will remain open until midnight to assist more citizens in registering their vehicles.
M-Tag Deadline Ends
The deadline for all vehicles entering Islamabad without an M-TAG has officially ended on January 15.
DC Irfan Memon said strict action will be taken against non-compliant vehicles at various entry points across the city.
The district administration has set up 16 M-TAG centers, where over 150,000 vehicles have already been registered for MTAG.
Additionally, 12 entry points in the city have been equipped with readers to identify vehicles without an M-TAG.
Memon confirmed that law enforcement agencies have started taking action against vehicles that do not comply with the MTAG requirement.
