Islamabad driving licence fee increased massively; check new fee structure

ISLAMABAD – Administration in the federal capital has announced a whooping increase in the fees for learner permit, driving licence of various categories and renewal of licences.

The development comes months after the Punjab government revised up the fee structure of driving licence.

A notification issued by the office of the chief commissioner said the new fees for driving licences will come into effect immediately.

Revised Fee Structure of New Driving Licence in Islamabad May 2024

The Islamabad administration has jacked up the fee for learner driving permit with six months validity to Rs1,000 from previous Rs349.

The fee for the motorcycle + motor car driving licence (non-professional) has been increased from Rs1,800 to Rs3,000.

The fees for professional licence (LTV and HTV) has been hiked from Rs2,100 to Rs10,000.

The fee for digital driving licence card has been increased to Rs2,000. Following is the complete fee structure of new driving licences in Islamabad:

Learner Permit Valid for six months Rs1000
New Motorcycle+car driving licence Rs3,000
LTV, HTV and other professional licence Rs10,000
Motorcycle+Professional licence Rs10,000
Digital Driving Licence Card Fee Rs2,000

Fee of Renewal of Driving Licence from May 2024

The renewal fee of driving licence within 30 days has been fixed at Rs2,000 while it will be Rs3,500 after thirty days but within one year of date of expiry of the licence.

The renewal fee for driving licence within three years of the expiry has been fixed at Rs3,000.

The fee for the renewal of the learner permit has been jacked up to Rs500 while duplicate licence fee has been fixed at Rs3,000.

The restoration fees for a suspended licence has been jacked up to staggering Rs20,000 in Islamabad.
