ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has been appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan.
“The Prime Minister has been pleased to designate Mr Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, as Deputy Prime Minister with immediate effect and until further orders,” reads the notification issued by Cabinet Division on Sunday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also made this announcement in a post shared on micro-blogging platform X (former Twitter).
A key member of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) has previously served as Federal Finance Minister. He is also the leader of the Upper House (Senate).
