BEIJING – Chief of General Staff (CGS) of Pakistan Army Lieutenant General Muhammad Avais Dastgir, and General Li Qiaoming, Commander of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), reviewed progress on defense cooperation in key sectors.

ISPR shared a statement about high-level meeting held at PLA Army Headquarters in Beijing between General Qiaoming, and Pakistan Chief of General Staff (CGS) as the two sides shed light on evolving global and regional security landscape, with an emphasis on strengthening bilateral military cooperation between the two nations.

In his statements, CGS Dastgir offered heartfelt condolences for the tragic loss of Chinese lives in a recent terrorist attack in Karachi, Pakistan. He also assured Beijing of Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the security of Chinese nationals residing in the country.

Chinese delegation acknowledged Islamabad’s efforts to improve security measures for Chinese citizens and pledged full support for continued cooperation on this front.

Both sides discussed range of mutual security concerns, agreeing to intensify efforts to combat common threats that undermine regional peace and development. They also reviewed the progress of ongoing military collaborations, including joint initiatives in military education, training, defense technology, and equipment.

Military leaders of Iron nation also agreed to further institutionalize mechanisms for sharing experiences and enhancing regular interactions between their forces. This includes expanding avenues for training exchanges, joint exercises, and deeper cooperation in defense technology and strategic planning.
