Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Monday underscored the enduring strength of Pakistan-China relations as he attended a grand cultural and friendship event in Islamabad marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, describing the bilateral relationship as a shining example of trust, respect and strategic cooperation in the modern world.
Held at the UNI International–China Pakistan Deep Love Cultural Exploration Center, the ceremony brought together diplomats, media representatives, corporate leaders, educationists, students and cultural activists to celebrate what participants described as the timeless “Iron Brother” bond between Pakistan and China, while also reviewing decades of diplomatic achievements and promoting deeper people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
The event was attended by ex- PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf as chief guest, alongside Wang Lei, Director of CGTN Urdu of China Media Group, senior representatives of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) Pakistan branch including Chairman Wang Yaodong, Vice Chairman Liu Yanming and Director Ren Liangbo. Also present were Secretary of the All Pakistan China Friendship Association, cultural exchange activist Adnan Hameed, Principal Fahad Ahmed Khan of Apex Education System, and UNI International founder and CEO Max Ma, along with teachers, students and members of the organization.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Pakistan and China, followed by the unveiling of a Chinese calligraphy message board inscribed with the words “Long Live the China-Pakistan Friendship,” symbolizing the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.
A cake-cutting ceremony was later held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, after which Raja Pervaiz Ashraf shared personal reflections.
