Iranian Energy Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian said Iranian contractors are currently implementing water and electricity projects in 50 different countries across the globe, IRNA reported.

“The country’s performance in the field of technical and engineering services is praise-worthy, and we provide good services in the countries of the region, and today our country’s water and electricity industry specialists are active in more than 50 countries of the world,” Mehrabian said in a press conference on Saturday.

“Today, Iran’s water and electricity industry has gone from a completely dependent industry to complete self-sufficiency, which is due to the efforts of domestic experts,” he added. According to the minister, domestic companies now not only meet the country’s needs; but many neighboring countries need Iran’s services, and now the Islamic Republic has many capable and leading companies in the engineering sector.

Iran’s policy of increasing non-oil exports as a strong strategy to nullify the U.S. sanctions is not limited just to the products, while the country is also determined to expand the export of technical and engineering services.

Considering Iran’s huge potential in this field, boosting such exports would be an advantage for expanding the country’s foreign trade especially with the neighbors.
